Mountains in Mexico

The mountains of Mexico are among the most stunning landscapes on the planet. They reach up to 3,400 meters and dominate the skyline from the central highlands all the way to the tropical Pacific coast. From the rocky outcroppings of the Sierra Madre  Occidental to the towering giants of the Sierra Madre Oriental, there are plenty of majestic peaks to explore. Volcán Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl are two of the most iconic and stunning volcanoes in the country, located just east of Mexico City. For adventurers and mountaineers, the volcanoes of Oaxaca provide ample opportunities for exploring, from trekking and peak bagging in Sierra Juárez to kayaking and caving in Sierra Norte.
