Croatia has the Dinaric Alps, which run along the length of its coastline, offering incredible views and some of the best hiking in Europe. The most famous of these mountains is the majestic Velebit range, which is home to many rare species of plants and animals. Croatia also has numerous smaller mountain ranges, such as Učka, the Biokovo Mountains, and the Gorski Kotar range. The highest peak in Croatia is Dinara at 1831 meters, located in the Dinaric Alps.
