Mountains in Bolivia
Bolivia's landscape is composed of breathtakingly beautiful and unique mountain ranges. One of the most popular, and highest, is the Cordillera Real, which reaches more than 20,000 feet in elevation and stretches for about 80 miles. The iconic Illimani peak can be found here and its beauty draws mountaineers from around the world. For a more relaxing experience, tourists often explore Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake located in the mountains near La Paz. Those wanting to really immerse themselves in the highlands can take in the dramatic Andean Mountains around Potosi and Uyuni, featuring small communities and a surreal lunar landscape.
